Click on a province, then a tenure within the province, to get increasingly detailed information about a certification. This map is based on the detailed Certification Status Report provided on this website.

Certification data is constantly in flux. The information on this map represents a “snapshot in time” taken on the date shown below the heading. Changes to certificates take time to be communicated from certification bodies to the standards, then be reflected in this data. Corrections are welcome and discrepancies should be reported to the appropriate standard (CSA, FSC or SFI) for resolution.
There are three major certification standards used by forest companies
operating in Canada
Canadian Standards Association
(CSA)
Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)
Sustainable Forestry Initiative
(SFI)
In most cases certification applies to an entire forest area held under an area-based tenure. However there can also be several volume-based tenures held by multiple companies within a particular forest area, in which case the proportion to which the certification applies may be less than the entire forest area ( See detailed tenure maps for proportions ).
